·           Abbey Church will be open during October & November. If you are able to ‘open and close’ for a week, please sign the list at the back of the church.

·          Alpha Course in Dirleton Kirk Hall today from 11.00am until noon.

·         Cards for sale at Dirleton (£3.50 for pack of 10) Commemorative mugs in 2 designs (£5.50 each). Beautiful limited edition mounted signed prints (£70).

·         Indian Recipe Booklet (only £1!) available from Sheena or Hilda today or Joyce at the office or at the Guild.  Proceeds to the Woman’s Fellowship for Christian Service, Kalimpong.

·           Articles for inclusion in Abbey & Dirleton Newsletters for November should be emailed or handed in no later than Tuesday 25 October. Newsletters will be available for distribution on Sunday 6 November.

·           Christmas Shoebox Appeal – The latest date for handing in shoe boxes is Sunday 6 November. There are leaflets at Abbey & Dirleton and a few empty boxes in the church office.

·           Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed by coffee – all very welcome.

·           Church Membership. If you are interested in church membership, please speak to the Minister. There will be an opportunity for this over the winter.

·           Dirleton Harvest Appeal. Almost 200 tins & packets of food, 35 items of cleaning materials, as well as a cash donation, were collected for the Edinburgh City Mission work with homeless people.

·           UNICEF Coffee Morning in the Hope Rooms Saturday 29 Oct, 10-12noon
Donations of baking, bric-a brac, books, etc can be handed in from 9.00am

·           Bible Sunday October 30th 2011 - Ecumenical Service in St Baldred’s Church at 6.00pm. Followed by refreshments. Also as a Celebration of the Quater Centenary of the King James’ Bible, there will be an opportunity to display any interesting and or historical bibles which any of you can bring. (please attach a short explanation with your contribution). Bring a little early – for info contact Patsy Pitkeathly.
