Sunday 13th January


A group from the church will be going to a performance of Verdi's Requiem and Te Deum at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh on Sunday 24 February 2013.
The performance starts at 7.30pm. Lifts should be available if we share cars. Tickets will cost £20 - £24. Anyone who is interested in attending should contact Robert Burgon  today or as soon as possible.

House Group restarts on Tuesday 15 January at 7.30pm at 11 Ben Sayers Park. Just come along, all are welcome.

Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed by coffee – all very welcome.

North Berwick Day Centre Coffee Morning is on Saturday 19 January from 10.00am- 12 noon in the Hope Rooms. Donations of baking, bric-a brac tombola prizes, etc would be welcome and can be handed in from 9.00am.

Bethany - There will be a short meeting after Church next Sunday 20th January to organise the care shelter evenings on Sun. 3rd Feb, Sat. 2nd March and Wed. 13th March. Anyone able to help, please come along or if unable to come contact Dorothy Kirkpatrick 89 2074 or Joyce at the office.

World Mission The media coverage of the Syrian situation is heart rending. On Sunday 3rd February as part of World Mission Sunday, we will hear from Sheilagh Kesting who visited Syria in her Moderator's year and has a deep concern for the situation there.
In the afternoon at 3.00pm classical guitarist and Tenor Martin Aelred will give a concert to raise funds for Mary's Meals, who now feed over 700,000 children in their place of education. £10.71 will feed one child for a year.
Come and see the DVD and hear some beautiful music.
Tickets £5, from World Mission Committee members or the Church office.

East Lothian Food Bank is collecting items to distribute locally to those in need. Pick up an item list at the back of the church if you can help, and bring items to church or the office.

Used stamps – Please save your used postage stamps from Christmas mail for World Mission remembering to leave a border of at least ¼ inch all round. There are boxes for stamps in Abbey & Dirleton or hand them in to the office. Joyce has 6½ kilo in the office and needs 10 kilo for a free uplift!
