·        Diamond Jubilee 'Big Lunch'
On Sunday 3rd June, there will be a special lunch in Abbey Hall at 12noon to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Tickets (£10 & child £5) are available now.  Proceeds to 'Age Scotland'
After the lunch, there will be an (optional) screening of the film 'Queen Elizabeth II, The Diamond Celebration'.

Help is needed in organising the lunch! This could be anything from setting out the tables to helping with the food. We'll have a meeting of all helpers today after the Abbey service. Please meet there if you can offer your help.

·         Choir practice on Tuesday 29 May at 8.00pm in Abbey old hall – all who enjoy singing are welcome.

·           Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed
by coffee – all very welcome.

·        Following Rev David Torrance's recent return from rural China, where he retraced the steps of his missionary parents and also the place he was born, he will be conducting the Abbey evening service next Sunday 3rd June at 6pm, with the theme 'The Church in China, Yesterday & Today'.

·         Guild Presbyterial Council Summer Rally on Thursday 7 June at 7.30pm at Bonnyrigg Church. Speaker Alison Twaddle. Anyone requiring transport contact Eleanor or Joyce at the office.

Super Supper - Saturday 16 June, 6.45pm for 7.00pm for 3 course meal
All at St Andrew Blackadder Church Hall

Sunday 20th May



·           Today (Assembly Sunday) ‘Heart & Soul’ a big celebration event is taking place in Princes Street Gardens. Please come along for a great experience. There will be no evening service at Abbey tonight.

·        Messy Church today from 4-6pm in St Andrew Blackadder Church hall.

·        The Tuesday House Group at Ben Sayers Park is taking a summer break.
It will resume after the holidays

 Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed
by coffee – all very welcome.

·         Guild Songs of Praise in the Assembly Hall on Tuesday 22 May at 7.00pm.
All are welcome for an evening of celebration and thanksgiving.

Sunday 13th May


·           Abbey Annual Stated Meeting is in the church after the morning service.

·           Articles for inclusion in Abbey & Dirleton Newsletters for June should be emailed or handed in no later than Monday 14 May.
Newsletters will be available for distribution on Sunday 27 May.

·        The Tuesday House Group at Ben Sayers Park is taking a summer break.

 Abbey Kirk Session & Board meet on Monday 7 May at 7.30pm in the hall.

·           Dirleton Kirk Session & Board meet on Tuesday 8 May at 7.00pm.

·           House Group on Tuesday 8 May at 7.30pm at 11 Ben Sayers Park. Just come along – all are welcome.

·           Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed by coffee – all very welcome.

Caitriana and Phil Spencer are cycling 41 miles on Saturday 12 May in aid of Christian Aid. If you would like to sponsor them there are forms at the back of Abbey church and at the ‘teas’ table.
