Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed by coffee – all very welcome.

East Lothian Food Bank has been invited to do a food collection outside Tesco. Our day for this is Friday 5th July. There are eight 1-hour slots, from 9am - 5pm, with suggested 2 people each hour. If you can help, please sign the sheet at the back of the church. Full instructions will be given later.

Christmas Stamp Competition The Royal Mail is running a national art competition for primary school pupils to design stamps for Christmas 2013, the first of its kind in over 30 years. Two lucky winners will see their designs on one of the 1st or one of the 2nd Class Christmas stamps.
Abbey Church Sunday School has registered and so you can go ahead and encourage entries from Sunday School children, grandchildren, neighbours' children or anyone under 12 who wants to have a go! IF we all act together, we can make world leaders change the future by tackling four big IFs – Tax, Aid, Land & Transparency.

in Abbey Church on 17, 18, 20 & 21 June at 7.30pm.
Tickets (including refreshments) £5, Youth & Seniors £3 from Greens & Blues, the High School, Joyce at the office or at the door.

Light to Live By – a morning of prayerful reflection led by the Lantern Group on Saturday 22 June, 10.30am – 1.30pm, in Holy Trinity Haddington.

Some Enchanted Evening – an evening of opera and song – in Abbey Church on Saturday 22 June at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 at the door.

Christian Aid The Christian Aid committee would like to thank everyone for their support and assistance at the various fundraising events held around Christian Aid week. All the money has yet to come in, but so far over £10,500 has been raised for the work of helping people round the world to overcome hunger. Together we have helped to make a difference!

Stamps for World Mission This week 14 kilo of used postage stamps (that’s over 30lbs!) have been uplifted. Thanks to all at Abbey & Dirleton who save their used stamps and especially to the lady who trims and sorts them. There are boxes for stamps at Abbey & Dirleton or hand them in to the office. Please remember to leave a border of at least ¼ inch all round.

This year, the focus of the stamp appeal is The Living Water project run by a congregation from the ECCB (Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren) in Horní Krupá in the Czech-Moravian Highlands.

Food Bank - Volunteers still needed to collect at Tesco for the Food Bank on 5 & 6 July. Please speak to Bill McClure if you are able help for an hour.
