Christmas Shoe Box Appeal – If you do not have a shoe box to fill there are plenty covered empty boxes at Dirleton and Abbey or from the office – please help yourself! Extra leaflets also available - please try to include the essential items listed.  Filled boxes to be returned by next Sunday 3 November.

We would like Abbey Church to be open during the day. If you are able to ‘open and close’, please sign the list at the back of the church.

Abbey Guild meets on Tuesday 29 October at 7.30pm. ‘Youth Assembly’ - Gregor Penman. All are very welcome – do come and join us

Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed
by coffee – all very welcome.

Test of Faith Big Bang or God?  in Abbey hall on Wednesday 30 October at 7.30pm – all welcome.

Traidcraft goods will be available at Abbey next Sunday, 3 November.

Abbey Harvest Appeal raised £1,300 (excluding Gift Aid) Money raised will help Muyebe School Water Project in Uganda replace the water tank & pipes. Thanks to all who helped with their prayers, collecting money & counting coins.

Harvest Sunday

Our Harvest collection raised £1200 for the water tank appeal in Kabale, Uganda. Thanks to everyone who helped, and also for the great flower arrangements & plants for local people.

Abbey Harvest Appeal – If you have been filling a water bottle with coins for the Water Project please hand it in today, next Sunday or to the office

Messy Church today from 4-6pm in St Andrew Blackadder Church.

Abbey Evening services re-start this evening at 6.00pm (until end December 2013) Theme is Hard Questions of Faith.

Abbey Kirk Session is holding an open meeting in the Church on Monday evening to hear what the wider Church is thinking about the ordination of gay & lesbian people to the ministry. This will start at 7.30pm with worship and a simple communion. Two other ministers will be coming to help us think through the issues involved. All are welcome to this.

Christmas Shoe Box Appeal – Come along and help cover shoeboxes with Christmas paper on Tuesday 8 October at 2.00pm in Abbey new hall.
Please bring any empty shoeboxes, wrapping paper, scissors etc.
