·           Would distributors please collect Abbey & Dirleton Newsletters today.

·           Abbey Church will be open during the summer. If you are able to ‘open and close’ for a week, please sign the list at the back of the church.

·         Sunday Afternoon Teas (hosted by St Baldred’s Church) in Abbey new hall today from 2 – 4.30pm. Enjoy delicious home baking and meet up with friends.

·           Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed
by coffee – all very welcome.

·           Traidcraft goods will be available at Abbey next Sunday, 4 September

·           Messy Church next Sunday, 4 September at 4pm in St Andrew Blackadder

·           Guild members are reminded of the Presbyterial Council Communion at the West Church, Haddington on Monday 5 September at 7.30pm.

·           Bethany’s Walk for Homelessness on the Water of Leith Walkway (11 miles from Currie Kirk to Ocean Terminal) is on Saturday 10 September. If you would like to sponsor this group or give donation please sign the form at the back of the church or at the ‘teas’ table.

·           An Alpha Course is starting on Sunday 2 October in Dirleton Kirk Hall from 11.00am till noon. If you are interested contact Peter or Hayley

·           The People’s Bible is a national tour which will produce a unique, hand written edition of the Bible in the year of the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible. On Friday 26 August between 10.00am and 4.00pm the Peoples Bible is in St Andrew Blackadder Church vestibule where people will be able to write a couple of verses. Volunteers from Abbey & Dirleton are required there from 11.00am – 12noon & from 12 noon - 1.00pm. Please contact Patsy Pitkeathly or Joyce at the office if you can help.

·           Articles for inclusion in Abbey & Dirleton Newsletters for September should be emailed or handed in no later than Tuesday 16 August.
Newsletters will be available for distribution on Sunday 28 August.

·           Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed
by coffee – all very welcome.

·        Manse Barbecue - Saturday 20th August at 'Sydserff', Old Abbey Road
Come for 2.00pm.  Food provided; drinks may be brought.

·         There will be an Art Exhibition in Abbey Church from 8th - 13th August during the week of 'Fringe by the Sea'. If anybody is willing to help with teas/coffees, please speak to Zandra or Joyce at the office.
