·           There is a small display of Donald Scott’s paintings in Abbey new hall today to raise funds for Pishwanton Centre.

·           Would distributors please collect Abbey & Dirleton Newsletters today

·           Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed
by coffee – all very welcome.

·           Scottish Bible Society – Afternoon Teas on Saturday 30 June from 2 - 4pm in Abbey Church Hall. Proceeds towards bringing Bibleworld to North Berwick in November. Donations of baking etc would be very welcome.

·           Traidcraft goods will be available at Abbey next Sunday 1 July – stock up for the summer!

Sunday 17th June




·       There will be no evening service in Abbey church tonight. Instead there is a visit to the evening service at 6.30pm at Charlotte Baptist Chapel Edinburgh The easiest way to travel would be by train (given traffic restriction in Edinburgh). Those who wish to go are invited to meet at North Berwick Railway station to catch the 5.20pm train.

·           Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed
by coffee – all very welcome.

·       ‘Summer Prelude ‘ - The Lantern Group are arranging a Quiet Morning on Saturday 23rd June at 10.30am, in Holy Trinity Church Haddington. 

·           We will once again be serving Summer Afternoon Teas from 2.30 – 4.30pm on Sundays in July in the new hall. Help is needed and anyone willing to assist with serving, washing dishes, collecting money, setting up and clearing up and of course baking would be very much appreciated and welcomed. Songs of Praise Thanksgiving Service tonight, Sunday 10 June at 6.00pm in Dirleton Kirk with Glasgow Kedron Singers.

·           Articles for inclusion in Abbey and Dirleton Newsletters for July & August should be emailed or handed in no later than Tuesday 12 June.
Newsletters will be available for distribution on Sunday 24 June.

·           A Midsummer Night’s Dream -  Wednesday 13 Thursday 14 & Friday 15 June at the High School Hall starting at 7.30pm

·       CHRISTIAN AID - Super Supper - Saturday 16 June, 6.45pm for 7.00pm for 3 course meal, all at St Andrew Blackadder Church Hall
Tickets £15 from Liz Keddie, Liz Harrison or Joyce at the office.

Jubilee Lunch

Abbey & Dirleton held a 'Big Lunch' for 70 people today.
Proceeds are going to the charity Age Scotland.

·        Diamond Jubilee 'Big Lunch' today in Abbey hall at 12noon to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Proceeds to 'Age Scotland'
After the lunch, there will be an (optional) screening of the film 'Queen Elizabeth II, The Diamond Celebration'.

·           Musicathon (in aid of High School musicians Malawi visit) on Monday 4 June in St Andrew Blackadder, 9am to 9pm – 12 hours non-stop live music. All day Café serving refreshment, soups, home baking. Free entry. All welcome.

·           Dirleton Prayer Service is on Wednesday at 10.00am in the hall, followed
by coffee – all very welcome.

·         Hadley Court Singers present Of Mice and Madrigals on Wednesday 6 June at 8.00pm in St Baldred’s Church (in support of Mary’s Meals) Tickets £10 from choir members or at the door.

·         Planning evening for the East Lothian Food Bank in Town House, Haddington on Wednesday 6 June at 7.30pm. Further information from the office.

·         Guild Presbyterial Council Summer Rally on Thursday 7 June at 7.30pm at Bonnyrigg Church. Speaker Alison Twaddle. Anyone requiring transport contact Eleanor or Joyce at the office.
