A
Challenge for you! Those of us who heard Dr
Sharon Foning speak of her work at the hospital in Kalimpong could not fail to
be humbled by the lack of resources that are available both for her in the job
she is doing, and for the mothers and babies in her care. Speaking with her in
the evenings it became apparent that the babies need to have cosy knitted
garments and hats. Her daughter received a filled shoebox at Christmas. This
prompted discussion about these, and the invaluable contents of pens, pencils,
rubbers, rulers, and toiletries which are desperately needed in the rural
areas.
So my challenge is - how
many can we provide in the space of a month?
The Indian visitors coming
this month will have less luggage among them than the baggage allowance, and
would take these items back with them.
Patterns for an easy knit
baby jumper/ hat are at the back of the church or from the office - just use
any colourful wool.
Please hand in baby knits,
pens, pencils, toiletries etc to Joyce at the office.
